Next up is the new Han Solo: A Star Wars Story which is set to hit theater on May 25th, 2018.

Today The Wrap broke the story that Lando Calrissian will be in the upcoming Han Solo movie, so there is life after death in Star Wars; The Force Awakens.

Except this movie is a about Han in his younger years and all his alias and foes, like Lando Calrissian, who is said is going to be played by Donald Glover.

What we know so far is that directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller told a story about hiring Alden Ehrenreich (26) to play Han Solo – they saw hundreds, if not thousands, of young men, but in the end they went with Ehrenreich, who was the first choice. With Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino taking on the lead roles of the film it is sounding like a winner. Plus Donald Glover is a good match up to Billy Dee Williams. He is believable as a young Lando.

NOTE: There are 10 actors that are in the running to play Lando, but Glover is the main choice unless one of these guys pulls attention. Here are the other actors up for the role; Michael B. Jordan, Anthony Mackie, Chadwick Boseman, Shameik Moore, Corey Hawkins, Tyler James Williams, Maestro Harrell, Andre Benjamin, Alfred Enoch, Daveed Diggs, Jacob Anderson, Leslie Odom Jr., Drake, and Stephan James.

If you ask us Donald Glover (32) is the perfect choice looks wise, but is anyone has a chance to pull attention it would be Chadwick Boseman (39, which makes him too old), Shameik Moore (21), Daveed Diggs (24) or Corey Hawkins (27). These actors are the best of the bunch when it comes to new talent. The others are good but don’t fit the character build, style or looks if you try to match Billy Dee Williams.

Bottom line is how young do they want Lando Calrissian to be in the Han Solo movie?

Lastly is an update on the new Mortal Kombat film which is supposedly being porduced by director James Wan (Insidious, The Conjuring, Saw).

In a recent interview with IGN at the Television Critics Association, James Wan gave fans a long awaited update assuring us that it’s still happening but that it’s all a matter of doing it right.

James said:

“It’s still cooking away. With that particular project, that’s a really cool property that I loved growing up as a kid. Besides the game, even the movies as well, I kind of enjoyed them for what they are…

…The key here is to try and do it right. I don’t want to rush into it. So right now, we’re just trying to take our time to make sure it’s heading in the right direction. I think that’s more important than trying to rush through it and pump up something that no one likes.”

He adds:

“I love the characters. I think they’re such colorful characters. It’s such an amazing take on, basically, Enter the Dragon. It’s that fantasy version, the video game version, of Enter the Dragon. And in doing so, they ended up creating such interesting characters and I think that is such a cool world to explore. This really mythical, bigger world that lives on another dimension on top of ours. I think that’s really fun to play with and so we’ll see.”
