There is one cast member who is excited for the upcoming movie. That would be Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who will play Black Manta in the film.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen was at SXSW this week to promote his upcoming film, Boundaries. The Film Boundaries is about Laura, a well-meaning single mother who is forced to drive her estranged pot-dealing father, Jack, from Texas to California, with her troubled son Henry along for the ride. While Jack uses Henry and the road trip to help him distribute his copious supply of marijuana, Laura finally confronts Leonard – her dead-beat ex-husband. (Note: it’s all in French)

As for, the upcoming Aquaman movie, CelebNMovies247.com got word via Flickering Myth who spoke with the actor about the DC film. Thankfully, Abdul-Mateen has some comforting words that may put those who are skeptical at ease.

Yahya aka The Black Manta, expressed that he’s impressed with the footage he’s seen of Aquaman.

He said at SXSW:

“I can’t say much about that. I have seen some of it, and I’m very happy with what I’ve seen thus far. Australia was beautiful. They have a word there, they say ‘cruising’, which means that it’s really, really comfortable, and low stress, and just beautiful, a lot of greenery and beaches and things like that.”

The film’s cast includes Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry (Aquaman), Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Patrick Wilson as Prince Orm Marius (Ocean Master), and Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna.

Aquaman will be released on December 21, 2018.
