Flip and watch the Blade Runner 2049 First Look Trailer…
Like we said earlier 2017 promises to be the year of highly anticipated franchises movies (sequels, reboots, semi-reboots) when it comes to 2 of Ridley Scott’s most famous films.
Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling are leading up Blade Runner 2049, but this time around Gosling takes on Fords role as new blade runner, who is known as simply “K”.
Blade Runner 2049, picks up thirty years after the first film and follows LAPD Officer K on a journey to find Rick Deckard (Ford), after he unearths “a long buried-secret” that could throw the world – which is already is pretty bad shape – into utter chaos. The premise for the Blade Runner sequel was developed by Scott and Blade Runner screenwriter Hampton Fancher, with a script by Fancher and Michael Green (who also wrote Scott’s upcoming Alien: Covenant) – again, based on ideas and characters from Philip K. Dick’s novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. An official teaser trailer for the Blade Runner sequel is now online, too.
Our Take on Blade Runner:
For those of you who loved the original back in the 80s are probably like us. We can’t wait to see this movie. We fell in love with the style and the film noir. It’s funny, because we went with friends who hated the film, but it was just above their mind set. Blade Runner was a film way before its time. It envoked a new vision, new idea and the introduction of AI (Replicant) asking the question…Why? Replicants only want one thing and that was more life, something humans want. Time is against replicants, like it is all of us. Scott displayed a grim look at life through the eyes of Replicants. He also touched on slavery…many things that many (at that time) didn’t really grasp, unless you’re a sci-fi head.
Below, the teaser trailer re-introduces the world of Blade Runner; at the same time, offers a sneak peek at Deckard and K’s first meeting.
