This time around Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson are set to save the world on the flip…
CelebNMusic247.com has the latest breakdown on the upcoming action comedy from Warner Bros.:
In CI Hart and Johnson are one-time high school friends from opposite side of the popularity scale. One is an all-star turned meek accountant and a former high school misfit turned CIA operative, respectively. As intimated in the film’s first feature-length trailer, Central Intelligence is set to focus on a mad-cap, action-thriller adventure undertaken by the unlikely duo at a turning point in their respective careers – with each one of them having essentially changed their respective social roles.
Playing a lowly white-collar worker, Hart as Calvin appears to be playing the respectively staid straight man character that he generally hasn’t played in his recent comedy offerings (Get Hard aside, perhaps), while Johnson as Bob Stone looks to be another lovable badass that should be right up the fan-favorite actor’s alley. The second trailer for Central Intelligence, in turn, promises more of what the movie’s first trailer featured, with plenty of Johnson’s undeniable charisma and Hart’s off-the-cuff comic mugging.
In the Central Intelligence footage featured above, viewers can see even more of Johnson as the formerly obese nerd who was once saved from total embarrassment and personal annihilation by Hart – back when the latter was the “big man on campus.” However, after meeting twenty years later at a high school reunion, it’s Johnson as Stone who is the cool, suave, and well-muscled secret agent, and Hart as Calvin who is the perennially effete and uncool office worker – as the two old allies form another tenuous bond with one another, this time with a much bigger mission in mind: save the world.
Watch the new Central Intelligence from Warner Bros. Pictures:
Based on what distributor Warner Bros. Pictures has released thus far, Thurber’s new film should be another healthy dose of much of the same high jinks and sophomoric good humor that has become expected from both Hart and Johnson over the course of the past few years. Even if you weren’t a fan of the formerly mentioned comic’s recent turn alongside Ice Cube in the Ride Along sequel, perhaps the actor’s pairing with the likes of “The Rock” in Central Intelligence will prove more amenable to everyone’s tastes.
If everything falls into place when Central Intelligence arrives this June, then viewers can expect a mad-cap comedy adventure to rival the likes of Thurber’s former box office successes (which includes We’re the Millers), and will provide a more than suitable vehicle for Hart and Johnson respectively. Until then, fans of both actors can comb over the latest footage from the new film, and begin anticipating the latest studio comedy from this seemingly ubiquitous starring duo.
Central Intelligence will see theatrical release in the U.S. on June 17th, 2016.
