In the trailer we find Daniel Kaluuya trapped in the country side where white family have black men and women serving them like slavery was legal again.
If Peele wants to raise some eyebrows he is definitely going to do it with this film. It will strike a nerve in everyone who is against racism and might make some black men think twice about dating a white girl from the burbs.
This is Stepford Wives in a whole new angle.
Here is the synopsis:
Kaluuya and Williams play a couple who have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating as she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with her parents, played by Keener and Whitford. The boyfriend reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries leads him to a truth that he could have never imagined.
“Get Out is directed by Peele from his own script. Producers are Blumhouse’s Jason Blum, as well as Sean McKittrick (Donnie Darko), Peele, and Edward H. Hamm Jr.
The film also stars Caleb Landry Jones (X-Men series), Milton “Lil Rel” Howery, Betty Gabriel (The Purge: Election Year), Marcus Henderson (Pete’s Dragon), and Keith Stanfield (Straight Outta Compton).
Paramount’s God Particle, Open Road’s Sleepless, and Lionsgate’s Rock Dog Get Out hits screens on February 24, 2017.
