The stuntwoman who tragically passed away while filming on the set of Deadpool 2 has been identified as Joi “SJ” Harris, a professional road racer.
Harris was participating in her first film as a stunt performer when the accident occurred. Joi “SJ” Harris is the first African American female professional road racer.
It’s been assumed that Sj was Zazie Beetz, who plays Domino in the sequel, stunt double. It has been reported by Deadline that Harris wasn’t registered with the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television, and Radio Artists, the union confirmed her identity.
This incident with Deadpool 2 marks the latest in a string of recent high-profile accidents that have taken place on the sets of major productions.
