Flip and take a look at the 9 new character posters for Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2, plus get the inside on Ego, Star-lord’s dad…
With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 quickly approaching more is revealed and more questions are raised. Recently, director James Gunn shared a few new details about Kurt Russels character aka Star-Lord’s dad, Ego the Living Planet.
Gunn promised that Ego is the “biggest visual effect of all time” with “nothing even close to it.”
If you’re wondering who and what exactly Ego is , then we have this information and what role he plays in the MCU via Birth.Movies.Death:
“The human version of Ego is played by Kurt Russell, who also happens to be the long-lost father of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt). If you’re still wondering who is Ego the Living Planet, check out IGN’s breakdown of the Marvel character and what role he plays in the MCU.”
IGN explains in detail:
“He’s basically a giant space rock that gained sentience and now travels the universe stirring up mischief. He hails from a remote corner of the Marvel Universe called the “Black Galaxy,” where he started life as a virus that grew and grew until it evolved to the point where it could think and act.
Like many of the more powerful cosmic beings in the Marvel U., Ego doesn’t necessarily qualify as hero or villain. As his name suggests, he’s a self-interested and very emotional creature that tends to act on a whim. Sometimes he seeks to conquer other planets, which tends to put him in conflict with Earth’s heroes in general and Thor in particular. But other times, Ego has been an ally to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, such as the time he agreed to make his surface the home for an alien race that was displaced by Galactus. Galactus even once tried to devour Ego himself, but luckily Thor was there to help his oversized friend.”
James Gunn also confirmed the movie will feature a post-credits scene and a third entry in the series will be happening. The images, released by actors in the film and director James Gunn, provide great looks at most of the movie’s protagonists, including Rocket Raccoon, Ego, Gamora, Mantis, and Ayesha.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 blasts in theaters on May 5.
