An American Werewolf in London:

First up, An American Werewolf in London. The 1981 hit comedy-horror movie from director John Landis is getting a remake. It was the first horror film to have a human transformation into a werewolf. It is also one of the most classic scenes in horror history. The remake will be directed by John’s son Max Landis.

Firestarter:

Next, Firestarter is coming back to the big screen thanks to Blumhouse productions. The Stephen King novel is getting an update since the original 1984 theatrical release starring Drew Barrymore isn’t standing the test of time.

It: Chapter Two:

It: Chapter Two will return for another go around with the Clown, Pennywise. This time around IT will be a bit more terrifying as the children are adults. This time around, its 27 years later, the Losers Club have grown up and moved away, until a devastating phone call brings them back. Director Andy Muschietti is in the drivers seat. The movie stars Bill Skarsgård, Jessica Chastain, Jaeden Lieberher and the original cast from It. The Clown returns on September 9, 2019.

Crooked Man:

The Conjuring will have another spin-off with Crooked Man, which is being penned by Don Roff. This will be the third spin-off of the Conjuring Universe besides Annabelle, The Nun and now The Crooked Man. The movie will flush out a backstory about the evil man who takes children.

Wizard of Oz Horror movie:

There is also an untitled Wizard of Oz Horror movie temporary titled The Wicked Witch. The movie plans to be extremely dark in the world of Oz. It’s a horror-centric world of Oz unlike any of its predecessors.

Joss Whedon Horror War Movie:

Avengers director Joss Whedon next project is a horror war movie that will take from current day Presidency and yesteryear-Hitler-esque themed film.

Whedon had this to say about his upcoming War horror movie:

“It’s a historical fiction slash horror movie about a time when the world was going insane, World War II. I got to tell you, I was in Germany and Poland doing research for this movie and I was seeing so many parallels [to the U.S.]. And I know it’s a shopworn thing to compare the orange guy to the little guy with the mustache, but you see things, indelible things in terms of propaganda, the state of the country, and the parallels are eerie as f-ck.”

The Blob:

The Blob is making it’s way back to theaters, but this time with Halle Berry and Samuell Jackson. The 1950’s classic had a remake in 1988, but Hollywood feels its time to get that jelly back on the big screen. Director Simon West will be helming the horror remake.

Glass:

Glass, the third installment to Unbreakable and Split. Bruce Willis returns as the superhero David Dern, Samuel L Jackson is also returning to the M. Night Shyamalan directed horror trilogy. Also returning for the third act is, James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy. The movie hits theaters on January 18, 2019.

Eli:

Paramount Pictures is behind the horror film Eli, about a boy receiving treatment for his auto-immune disorder discovers that the house he’s living isn’t as safe as he thought. Eli (Charlie Shotwell) will be directed by Ciarán Foy (Sinister 2), and star; Kelly Reilly (Flight), Max Martini (Pacific Rim), Sadie Sink and Lily Taylor.

Hellboy:

Hellboy, will be directed by The Decent director Neil Marshall. The new reboot of Hellboy will star, David Harbour (Hellboy), Milla Jovovich (Nimue the Blood Queen), Ian McShane (Professor Bruttenholm) and more. The R-Rated movie will hit theaters on January 11, 2019.

Untitled Jordan Peele Project:

Last, Get Out Director Jordan Peele is working on a new untitled project that is said to blow everyone away. The movie is set to be another social horror film that will be scarier than his debut film. It will be about the worst kind of horror, human beings and how far they will go. The untitled Jordan Peele project is set for the big screen on March 15, 2019.
