Johnny Depp Asking For $50 Million To Return For Pirates Of The Caribbean 6?

According to reports, Johnny Depp wants to cash in on his Jack Sparro for another round as the swash-buckling lush in Pirates Of The Caribbean 6. Read on…

CelebNMovies247.com reports Johnny Depp’s future lies in the hands of the Hon. Mr. Justice Nicol.

Yup, Johnny Depp is still awaiting the High Court Judge to decide whether his libel case against News Group Newspapers succeeds.

This means that his abuse allegations made by his ex-wife Amber Heard are credible. If the case goes Depp’s way, it’ll be seen as a vindication and he may see a sudden career uptick.

But if he loses then he could be on the hook for millions of pounds in legal fees, will suffer a huge dent to his reputation and it’ll wreak havoc on his future projects.

This makes for an interesting perspective since multiple sources are reporting that Depp is asking Disney for $50 million to return as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6. Especially since it was previously said that Pirates 6 could survive without Sparro. And it was also said Depp was not returning. It appears things have changed and Disney has realized the franchise would NOT survive without Depp.

The report seems to originate from The Globe, who claims that Depp is running out of funds due to his legal battles and desperately wants to be making money again on the big screen. Nothing has been confirmed. Depp is currently worth $200 million.

Could he get $50 million for Pirates 6?

The answer is plausible since Depp received a $55 million payday for appearing in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Despite the critic reviews, Dead Men Tell No Tales still made almost $800 million at the box office, proving that these films remain money-spinners.

If Johnny Depp wins, he could very well get his big Pirates of the Caribbean payday. If he loses, we will have to see if Disney will still invest and back Depp, or will they be reluctant to make a big deal with a man who just lost a libel case about abusing his wife.

There’s going to be a verdict soon.

We will keep you posted…
