Kicking off MCU for 2018 is Black Panther. It is his first solo film and it promises to dominate the box office with a star-studded cast directed by Ryan Coogler.

Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Andy Serkis, Angela Bassett, Forrest Whitaker, Winston Duke, Sterling K. Brown, Florence Kasumba and more.

Plot Line:

T’Challa, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king.

On a darker note, Marvel Cinematic Universe 2018 dives into the horror genre with director Josh Boone New Mutants. The X-Men spinoff into the horror genre with The New Mutants. It’s the first of more to come.

New Mutants stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Maisie Williams and more. The film introduces a new group of Mutants like Illyana Rasputin / Magik, Sam Guthrie / Cannonball, Rahne Sinclair / Wolfsbane, Sunspot / Roberto da Costa, and Danielle Moonstar / Mirage.

Plot Line:

Five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves.

The biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe 2018 movie will be the Avengers: Infinity War, which brings all of the superheroes together tieing the MCU together in one huge battle against Thanos. Who will survive and who will die?

Plot Line:

The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

Avengers: Infinity War is written by Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely. ALL of Marvels heroes are back for the fight against Thanos. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston are ready for the fight. Along with Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Sebastian Stan, Don Cheadle. The Guardians are also on board, including; Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, and Pom Klementieff. Let’s not forget Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his crew as well; Benedict Wong, and Sean Gunn. Followed by Spider Man’s Tom Holland, Ant Man’s Paul Rudd, and Josh Brolin as Thanos.

The Amazing Spider Man’s nemesis Venom Symbiote will be making its horrific Marvel Cinematic Universe 2018 debut.

Tom Hardy will be under the direction of Ruben Fleischer who is in the drivers seat for Venom.

Venom film stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Riz Ahmed, Reid Scott, Michelle Lee, DJames Jones, Jared Bankens and more. What is interesting about Venom is that rumors indicate that Michelle Williams will play She-Venom, and Riz Ahmed will become Carnage. This means there’s a chance the movie will adapt the storyline with a new group of villains.

Plot Line:

Venom aka Eddie Brock, is a spiteful photographer who merged with an alien symbiote that was late of Peter Parker. The project is being developed by Sony’s Columbia Pictures as a potential spinoff of Spider-Man: Homecoming. It is now said to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Venom is the 6th MCU movie scheduled for release in 2018.

We have a first look at the potential logo for Venom, which was snapped by Collider’s own Steve Weintraub stumbled upon this image at CCXP (Comic Con Experience) in Brazil.

Marvel Cinematic Universe 2018 Movies Release ScheduleX-Men: Dark Phoenix (November 4, 2018):

Jean Grey gets her own origin movie as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe 2018, but hers is about transforming to the Phoenix, the mutant that is hidden underneath Jean Grey’s exterior mutant form. Simon Kinberg is directing this film that written by John Byrne (story “The Dark Phoenix Saga”), Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum (story “The Dark Phoenix Saga”), Jack Kirby and Stan Lee (comic-book based character) and Simon Kinberg.

Dark Phoenix brings back Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Olivia Munn, Michael Fassbender, Sophie Turner, Evan Peters, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee and more. It appears The Dark Phoenix movie will pick up after Apocalypse.

Plot Line:

Jean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn her into a Dark Phoenix. Now the X-Men will have to decide if the life of a team member is worth more than all the people living in the world.

What’s NEXT for the Marvel Cinematic Universe 2019?

2019 promises to bring Captain Marvel (March 8, 2019) directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Then directors Anthony and Joe Russo will head the follow up to Infinity War Untitled Avengers film (May 3, 2019). Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 (July 5, 2019) and Channing Tatums in Gambit (February 4, 2019).

Guardians of The Galaxy 3 returns in 2020. There is plenty of room for additional movies. And Lets not forget Ryan Reynold in the  Drew Goddard directed X-Force which is currently in development. We’re guessing it will be slatted sometime in 2020 2020 looks promising with Dr Strange 2 returning to fight another battle. There will be a Black Panther 2, and Ant Man and the Wasp 3 pending on the success of the films.

Just note that the MCU has 20 movies planned after Avengers Infinity War. We can count starts with Deadpool 2 and end with an Unannounced Marvel Movie in late 2022 (likely a new franchise). The total films we have listed thus far is 17, that means there are a few new surprises on the way.

Kevin Feige had this to say about the future of the MCU starting in 2021:

“We know what [films] we’d like them to be for 2020. Over the years, where we’re aiming we’ve been lucky enough that it’s usually been the same thing but we always leave ourselves the opportunity to bob and weave and adapt if we have to. But we know where we’re headed for 2020 and we have ideas and we’re beginning to solidify the years beyond that.”
