New Mutants Reshoots Adds New Character's; Release Date Change

CelebNMovies247.com has the latest on X-Men’s New Mutants has been pushed back to 2019 to make way for a Silver Surfer movie.

Fans of Marvel and The Fantastic Four have been anxiously waiting for a Silver Surfer movie ever since Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

What does this mean for New Mutants?

New Mutants will be undergoing significant reshoots this summer. Those rumors have signaled that the reshoots are drastic because the test screenings were not satisfactory, and the movie needed to be scarier.

Cast member Maisie Williams has refuted those claims, but she could easily be partaking in carefully planned damage control. However, there is new evidence that might support the idea that New Mutants needed to be significantly reworked.

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter reports:

“There is a round-up of Marvel-centric updates from 20th Century Fox. They’re reporting the reshoots will include the addition of a new character in the movie. While there are no details about who that character might be or what purpose they will serve, that doesn’t sound like a traditional part of the usual reshoots that come with blockbuster movies. Hopefully, this doesn’t mean New Mutants is in trouble, but we’ll be waiting another year before we find out.”

New Mutants will slash into theaters until February 22, 2019.

We guess, Marvel is hoping February will be a launching pad for another R-Rated superhero movie like Deadpool and the extremely successful Black Panther movie.
