Person of Interest and Of Kings And Prophets Cancelled

Person of Interest and Of Kings And Prophets Cancelled

ABC and CBS have decided to trim the fat and rid themselves of their lowest rated show and out the box dud, Person of Interest and Of Kings And Prophets Cancelled!!!

Find out why these two shows just got the axe on the flip…

Of Kings And Prophets has learned that CBS has decided to end Person of Interest after the shortened 13-episode order for season five is fulfilled.

Created by screenwriter Jonathan Nolan (Interstellar), Person of Interest premiered in the fall of 2011. To date, there have been a total of 90 episodes. The series got off to a great start, pulling in over 13 million viewers. By season four, after a scheduling change, the show began to see a drop in ratings.

While attending the TCA (Television Critics Association) to promote the latest Hulu series, 1.22.63, producer J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) said Person of Interest‘s fifth season would likely be its last (source: IGN):

In a statement to IGN, executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman had this say about the cancellation of Person of Interest:

We’re extremely excited to be able share this final season with the fans. We’re eternally grateful to our amazing cast and crew, as well as our partners at the studio and network. Most of all, we want to thank the show’s fans — the best fans in the world. This subversive little paranoia-inducing cyberpunk-thriller is for you and would not have been possible without your support. As life has come to imitate Person of Interest, it’s been our great privilege to work on show for the past five seasons. We can’t wait for you to experience this thrilling and final chapter.

As for ABC’s Of Kings and Prophets the inevitable came true, the short-lived series only made it to its second episode before being pulled from the network.

Of Kings and Prophets opened with a dismal 0.8 Live+same day rating in adults 18-49. That was below the underwhelming start of Wicked City (0.9) in the hour last fall.

ABC has pulled the biblical drama Of Kings and Prophets off the air after two very, very low-rated airings. Beginning next Tuesday, March 22, Shark Tank offshoot Beyond The Tank will take over the 10 PM Tuesday time slot for the remainder of the season. Of Kings and Prophets has become the latest ABC casualty in the hour.

This was the second chance so to speak for Of Kings and Prophets after it was pulled from the ABC fall lineup. However, the network should have stuck to their gut because the show was a dud. The orignal reason the series was pulled from its original slot on Sundays came true despite the tweaking and recasting. There was no way to safe the unappealing series for todays audience.
