It’s not like we haven’t seen enough Doctor Dolittle movies, but here we go with another remake starring Robert Downey Jr…
Recently, Eddie Murphy portrayed Dolittle and back in 1967 Rex Harrison was the Doctor Dolittle who could talk to animals. Now, Oscar-winning screenwriter Stephen Gaghan, who most recently directed Matthew McConaughey’s “Gold,” will helm the film from his own screenplay. Tom Shepherd wrote an earlier draft.
While “The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle” will be produced by Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum through their Roth/Kirschenbaum Films, alongside Susan Downey for Team Downey.
In addition [via Variety], Roth/Kirschenbaum Films’ credits include “Alice in Wonderland,” “Snow White and the Huntsman,” and “Maleficent.” Susan Downey’s credits include the Sherlock Holmes franchise, “The Judge,” and “The Brave One.”
As for, Robert Downey Jr. who has starred in the following Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise movies, like Iron Man, Avengers. He also starred in Guy Ritchies Sherlock Holmes franchises, along with “Tropic Thunder” and “The Judge.” He’ll be reprise his role as Stark/Iron Man in the “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
Downey continues to expand his skills as an actor. He sure has come a long way since his days in Tuff Turf opposite James Spader and Kim Richards.
