Get the details on the flip about two John Carpenter classics getting remakes and one will star The Rock, Big Trouble in Little China…
On Tuesday, it was announced that Blumhouse will remake Halloween with Carpenter on board as Executive Producer.
If you remember, it was announced last June that The Rock would star in a Big Trouble in Little China remake. Since then, a whole bunch of other Rock movies, as well as movies he seems very likely to join, have come to light. It felt as if Big Trouble In Little China was no longer happening. If you’re familiar with Big Trouble one of our main concerns was if The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson was cool enough to take on the role of Kurt Russell.
As for, Johnson, he had an interview with Fandango where Johnson exclaims:
“That’s happening, man!”
“That’s happening, that’s happening. And again, that’s one of those things where you gotta take really good care of it.”
Right now, there’s no specific movement, but the film hasn’t disappeared either.
The Rock is, after all, pretty cool. We’re not sure if he’s Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) cool, but he’s pretty up there. It’s easy to assume most remakes of beloved films will be awful, yet we imagine a Big Trouble remake would have to be different enough from the original to be its own beast. we hope.
In any case, this threat is still far off. The Rock has a gazillion things going on right now, and that’s on top of eating like 10,000 calories a day.
The other thing we wanted to touch on is who would take on the Gracie Law (originally played by Kim Cattrall). We feel that Chloe Grace Moretz who be perfect for the role.
