Shooting for Saw 8 will start filming in Toronto in September.
The last installment of the horror franchise, known as ‘Saw: The Final Chapter’ or ‘Saw 3D’, was released back in 2010 but now the gore is going to continue with another terrifying chapter in the saga.
The new installment of the franchise will be titled ‘Saw: Legacy’. It will be produced by Dan Heffner and Oren Koules who have overseen the rest of the series.
No stars have been announced nor has the been a director attached. However, the series creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell could return.
As the film is reportedly due to shoot in autumn there has been speculation that the long awaited film could be released as soon an October 2017 (Just in time for Halloween).
Once again the film will continue to be based on the Jigsaw Killer John Kramer who rather torment his victims and then traps them in situations that he calls “tests” or “games.” Jigsaw would give them the rules of the sadistic “games” to torment his victims, showing them videos read out by Billy the Puppet.
Saw has become such a cash cow for the studio that they’re bringing it back. There is an array of merchandising, spin-off games and comics and its own ride at Thorpe Park theme park in the UK.
