We haven’t seen Jamie Foxx in action since he was in The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Jamie Foxx looks to have made a potentially better choice to get back into tough guy mode with a new action thriller called Sleepless.
Sleepless stars Foxx as undercover Las Vegas police officer Vincent Downs, who is caught in a high stakes web of corrupt cops and the mob-controlled casino underground. When a heist goes wrong, a crew of homicidal gangsters kidnaps Downs’ teenage son. In one sleepless night he will have to rescue his son, evade an internal affairs investigation and bring the kidnappers to justice.
This one appears to be full of double crossing since it features Foxx playing an undercover detective named Vincent Downs, posing as a corrupt cop, who gets the raw end of a bad deal when his son is kidnapped by one of the gangsters (Scoot McNairy) Downs has been working with.

Open Road Films Sleepless hits the big screen on February 24, 2017.
Chilean director Pablo Larraín will premiere Jackie, starring Natalie Portman. In fact, the Oscar buzz has already started for Portman.
The movie premiered at the recent Venice and Toronto film festivals, and will be screened at this week’s New York Film Festival. Its buzz is set to only grow now that a debut trailer has been released. Watch it above.
Jackie focuses on Jacqueline Kennedy in the week following the 1963 assassination of her husband, President John F. Kennedy — a narrow period of time whose events are framed by an interview she gives to a reporter (Billy Crudup). In the clip, we see glowing scenes of White House life before the assassination and shocking images from right after, including a glimpse of the speeding convertible carrying the mortally wounded president and a scene of Jacqueline Kennedy in the shower washing off her husband’s blood.
Jackie is set to hit screens this December:
The film also stars Billy Crudup, Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig, John Hurt, Richard E. Grant, and John Carroll Lynch.
Jackie opens in theaters on December 2, 2016.
Hailee Steinfeld is having a moment. Yes, she has some blockbuster clout with Pitch Perfect 2, Ender’s Game, and Barely Lethal.
Her performance in The Edge of Seventeen is garnering a lot of attention from critics, who liken the film to classic coming-of-age films like Clueless and Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Hear more good things about it in the new red-band trailer.
It’s another awkward teen movie tapping in sexual awakening, the fear what awaits beyond, and the psychological torment of other kids.
The only difference is this one is actually getting critical acclaim.
The Edge of Seventeen does a pretty stellar job. Steinfeld portrays Nadine, a high school junior facing all of the above at a time when her Americana jock brother starts dating her best friend, causing a rift between them. What forms a light at the end of the tunnel is her new friendship with a boy named Erwin (Hayden Szeto).
The film’s also got Woody Harrelson, Kira Sedgwick, Blake Jenner (Everybody Wants Some!), Haley Lu Richardson (The Bronze), and marks the directorial debut of writer Kelly Fremon Craig.
The Edge of Seventeen hits theaters on November 18th.
