Tyler Perry ‘House of Payne’ Spinoff Lands 38-Episode Order on OWN

CelebNMovies247.com has learned per Variety that Perry’s TBS comedy “House of Payne,” spinoff “The Paynes” was given a 38-episode order by OWN.

The series will be written, directed and produced by Perry. The Payne’s stars LaVan Davis and Cassi Davis, who will reprise their roles from the original series.

The plotline for “The Paynes”:

The series meets back up with Curtis and Ella Payne who are trying to enjoy their retirement in Florida only to get roped into a real estate deal that will tumble their lives like clothes in a dryer. It is set to premiere in 2018.

OWN President Erik Logan said in a statement:

“Tyler has been an incredible collaborator, a great partner and has an unprecedented track record of success with his hit scripted series. Tyler’s shows are must see TV for his loyal audience and we are excited to offer up a brand-new comedy and more episodes of their favorite Tyler dramas on OWN. We also would like to thank the entire casts of both ‘Love Thy Neighbor’ and ‘For Better or Worse’ who have given us loads of laughs over the years. Both series have had great runs and we appreciate everyone’s hard work and dedication.”

He is meticulous when it comes to creating TV, plays, and Madea. He is one of the best in Hollywood and sometimes underrated for his creative mind. He continues to grind out series in a tireless effort. He is none stop working.

Perry’s hit OWN drama “The Haves and the Have Nots” has also landed an order by OWN for 44 additional episodes. As well as, 18 episodes of “If Loving You is Wrong.”

OWN also announced on Monday that the upcoming seasons of Perry’s other two comedies at the network, “Love Thy Neighbor” and “For Better or Worse,” will be their last. “Love Thy Neighbor” will return for Season 4 on Saturday, March 4, and “For Better or Worse” will return for Season 6 on Saturday, June 10.
