Venom 2: What We Know So Far…

Venom 2 has a new director, Andy Serkis who has confirmed the movie will be an “extraordinary piece of cinema” but didn’t reveal much about the plot.

Serkis is said to be improving the CGI of Venom/hardy for the sequel.

He told IGN:

I can’t tell you any ideas right now. I’m in the beginning stages, but I have some very clear ideas about what I want to see visually, and how we can take the characters to another dimension.

As for Spider-Man crossing over into Venom 2, well it may be happening, but here is what is being said:

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige said that a crossover “seems likely at some point”, while producer Amy Pascal is a big fan of Tom Holland but didn’t specifically state Holland would be in a Venom movie.

Pascal said:

We have big plans for Tom Holland to be a part of everything. Every movie we ever do! He needs to be in every movie that I ever work on!

Who is the villain? The first film promises that another symbiote will show up – Venom’s offspring, Carnage. The set up came in the post-credits with Woody Harelson as serial killer Cletus Kasady – aka Carnage.

According to producer Avi Arad, Carnage won’t make it R-rated.

He said:

When you hear Carnage, the only thing you can think of is R. But, if you know his story, if you really know the comic, there’s no R here.

Ad for the cast, Tom Hardy will be back as Eddie Brock and his alien alter ego, Venom since he has signed on for three films so far. And Michelle Williams, who stars as Eddie Brock’s ex-wife Anne Weying, will also return. There is lots of talks that her She-Venom will be returning as well.
