Despite the success of the R Rated box office success of Deadpool 20th Century Fox Wolverine 3 Going For R Rating, the studio is considering going for an R-rated comic book sequel for the sequel???
CelebNMovies247.com has the latest details on the upcoming Hugh Jackman Wolverine sequel that is set for 2017 on the flip….
Did you hear, Wolverine 3 Going For R Rating?
CelebNMovies247.com has learned that just a few days after Deadpool took the box office by storm with unexpected record-breaking numbers, rumblings surfaced that 20th Century Fox was considering Wolverine 3 to be R Rated as well. It seemed to be hasty that the studio was going to jump on Deadpool’s R Rated success, but what works for the Ryan Reynold’s Anti superhero film may NOT be the right remedy for Wolverine.
That is besides the point, because who doesn’t want to see Wolverine get some blood on his claws?
THR reports that Wolverine 3 has always been presumed to be a movie that would end up getting an R-rating from the Motion Picture Association of America when the time came. This is apparently because the level of violence in the script byMichael Green, and presumably language, would end up making the movie something that probably isn’t best for kids to see.
Note: The Ryan Reynolds-starrer has amassed more than $500 million worldwide since opening in theaters less than two weeks ago, and is virtually assured of becoming the top-grossing R-rated title in history, eclipsing The Matrix Reloaded ($742.1 million), not accounting for inflation.
The Wolverine teaser poster which debuted at Comic-Con could be the first hint at an R Rating, but maybe not since the previous Wolverine films were both PG-13. So what is it? R or PG-13 – by what we are hearing, and by what is being implied, Wolverine 3 being an R Rating may just be a myth. Especially since James Mangold, the man who directed Jackman in The Wolverine (2013) is returning to helm the final Wolverine movie. As for, X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) aka Wolverine 2, it was also rumored to receive an R Rating, but it to ended up being a friendlier superhero movie with an PG-13 for the kids.
There’s no way of knowing for sure, but the decision to make Wolverine 3 R-rated surfacing after the success of Deadpool does feel a bit premature.
Plus Fox has not commented on the pamphlet or the movie’s intended rating.
Wolverine 3 is scheduled to hit theaters March 3, 2017
