For more details on the upcoming Wolverine 3 movie flip….
With that said, 20th Century Fox was is moving forward with a R-Rated Wolverine 3, which reunites The Wolverine director James Mangold with star Hugh Jackman in his supposed final turn as the eponymous X-Men.
A confirmation of the R-Rating couldn’t have come at a better time. In the midst of the momentum created by the upcoming May 27th release of X-Men: Apocalypse (a film Jackman is also involved in), since Collider‘s Steve Weintraub sat down with writer/producer Simon Kinberg at the press event for X-Men: Apocalypse in London.
Kinberg confirmed that Wolverine 3 is now filming, while hinting what fans can expect from the movie:
“It’s a very radical, bold, different Wolverine than you’ve ever seen in any of these movies… It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone.”
This should be an interesting spin on Wolverine since Logan embodies the gritty Western style character already. Instead of guns Logan will be take bar fights to a new level and taking justice into his own clawed hands.
Meanwhile, Kinberg provided some inspiration for the film with a western comparison for Wolverine 3 which also further fuel rumors that the Old Man Logan comic book storyline is in effect.
As for Patrick Stewart being involved, he added:
“I will agree with you that Patrick Stewart was rumored to be a part of that film. It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.”
