The Spirit Awards is normally a precursor to The Academy Awards, but it was Jordan Peele’s night at the Film Independent Spirit Awards.

Jordan Peele, the Comedy Central star turned director of Get Out took home Best Director and Best Feature Film. Read on to the complete Spirit Awards 2018 Winners list…

CelebNMovies247.com had a gut feeling that Peele’s success would continue at the Oscars, but instead our other favorite movie, The Shape of Water took home Best Director and Movie.

Jordan Peele, who said at The Spirit Awards, “This was not a film where anyone took home a paycheck. We did it because we believed in the story. We believed that because no one had ever seen the story before, it had to exist.”

Another movie, that we felt was a major Oscar contender and Award winner was Three Billboards’ Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell who took home Best Actress and Supporting Actor. I, Tonya’s Alison Janney took home Best Actress.
