CelebNMovies247.com loved watching the three part documentary Time Warp: The Greatest Cult Films of All Time which airs in a three part On Demand series.

Time Warp: The Greatest Cult Films of All-Time, a three-part documentary directed by Danny Wolf that’s available to stream starting April 21, is a star-studded celebration of a subculture of films that dare not be tagged as guilty pleasures.

The three part series is filled with a star-studded cast that includes Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski), Gina Gershon, Rob Reiner, P.J. Soles, Lori Williams, Pam Grier, Mary Woronov, and Erica Gavin. Each of the stars get a chance to speak on their films Spinal Tap, Rock ‘n’ Roll High School, Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, Coffy, Eating Raoul, and Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.

The series touches on the cult genre and how it speaks for each generation and what inspires fans to return to the midnight movie week after week making these films cult classics.

Time Warp is a throwback to a bygone golden era of repertory theaters and midnight movies, which was the birth of the midnight movie. It was a way for the subculture film to become a classic such as cult-movies like The Rocky Horror Picture Show—which in 1976 went from box office bust to sold-out interactive experience.

It was also a time where David Lynch’s Eraserhead, John Waters’s Pink Flamingos proved to be impactful touching each generation and what makes these films so impactful to the culture of cinema.

What makes A great Cult Film?

Time Warp: The Greatest Cult Films of All Time talks about The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Coffy, The Warriors, ink Flamingos, Point Blank, Eraserhead and more. The films all touched

  • The Rocky Horror Picture Show was a film that helped many people get in touch with their sexuality. on how its a great movie to watch
  • The Warriors was so impactful Paramount pulled promotion and pulled the film from theaters due to the violence.
  • Assault on Prescient 13 crossed the line of R Ratings with the killing of a child in a scene played by Kim Richards (former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills).
  • Coffy was the birth of Black Exploitation and female empowerment. Then Point Blank was the beginning of actors doing their own stunts and the new genre heist movies.

Bottom line is cult films are what defines us, helps speak to a generation, and it a part of movie culture makeup and how society sees itself. Without cult films like these great films we would be lost.
