The Child’s Play Remake has found a couple of promising stars!

CelebNMovies247.com has learned that Aubrey Plaza and Brian Tyree Henry are both in talks to star in the remake of the horror classic.

The Child’s Play Remake is being produced by MGM.

According to reports, Aubrey Plaza will play the mother of the child who winds up with the killer doll this time around, while Brian Tyree Henry will portray a detective. Though, further details regarding his part haven’t yet been disclosed.

What we are hearing is that both stars appear to be pretty much locked down, even though they haven’t signed on the dotted line just yet.

Liv Tyler had been in negotiations to portray the mom in the Child’s Play remake. But apparently, those talks broke down and they decided to go a slightly different way.

The cast makes perfect sense if everything is greenlit.

Aubrey Plaza has a bit more star power these days and seems like she would be at home in a horror movie. She has had some great roles in the past year with Ingrid Goes West and the FX series Legion.

With Aubrey on board, this might be the right amount of star power to make Chucky’s return a huge success. Maybe even sequels.
