David Ayer: Harley Quinn movie Gotham City Sirens Is Still Happening

CelebNMovies247.com has just received word that Gotham City Sirens is still happening, according to director David Ayer.

Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie seemed to will into existence practically on her own. Back in August Robbie hired a writer to help develop the story, she had David Ayer on board to direct, but that seemed to change. Reports surfaced shortly after that Warner Bros. was NOT interested in Ayer directing the project and the project was cancelled.

Well, we can officially debunk the rumors since director David Ayer confirmed that it’s still being worked on while promoting his new movie Bright.

Ayer made a brief statement.

“It’s in development.”

This goes along with what we previously reported that Margot Robbie was working on her Harley Quinn movie. At the time we suspected it was Gotham City Sirens, and with this confirmation, our hunch was correct.

However, there is still another untitled project about Harley. As well, as Gotham City Sirens, Joker Vs. Harley Quinn and Suicide Squad 2, which will be directed by Gavin O’Connor. The first film to hit the big screen for the DCEU will be Suicide Squad 2. It’s slated for a November 1, 2019 release, but the other films all remain up in the air for now.

Bumblebee spin-off movie writer, Christina Hodson is now on board to pen Gotham City Sirens, which was originally thought to be the rumored Birds of Prey film. Sirens will still follow Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Poison Ivy as they team up and work together.

We are looking forward to who will play Catwoman and Poison Ivy, and will they tie into the Legion of Doom when Justice League 2 returns.

Are you looking forward to the Harley Quinn movie (s)?
