Director Craig Zobel Speaks Out After Universal Cancels The Hunt Release

No one will see Craig Zobel’s movie The Hunt! Universal and Blumhouse Cancel The Hunt release due to political climate these days and the man with the red hat.

Everyone is stuck playing the game and serving the government because freedom of speech is all a lie. Universal and Blumhouse have canceled The Hunt because of influence by a specific man in power aka no. 45. Read on since President 45 demanded that Universal Cancels The Hunt…

CelebNMovies247.com has learned that director Craig Zobel is speaking out about the goal of his project and what they were trying to accomplish with The Hunt.

The Hunt looked to be very similar to the Purge in some respects but The Hunt apparently hit too close to home for our countries fearless leader. The movie touches on the government kidnapping illegals, activists and anyone speaking against the leaders of the counrty. They are then transported to a place where the rich can pay to hunt humans. It’s The Purge, The Hunger Games and Cabin in the Woods all mashed up into one film.

Craig Zobel told Variety:

Our ambition was to poke at both sides of the aisle equally. We seek to entertain and unify, not enrage and divide. It is up to the viewers to decide what their takeaway will be. I wanted to make a fun, action thriller that satirized this moment in our culture — where we jump to assume we know someone’s beliefs because of which ‘team’ we think they’re on… and then start shouting at them. This rush to judgment is one of the most relevant problems of our time.

The director expresses gratitude to Universal for taking a risk on a new intellectual property and says they also didn’t ask him to tone down the politics during production. The outrage all seems to spark from the poorly-defined trailer released only weeks before the cancellation.

We were looking forward to this movie, but today’s political climate has cuased the studio to pull it.
