First Look at Father of the Bride Reboot!
Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for the upcoming reboot of classic ’90s comedy Father of the Bride has landed. Continue on to watch the Father of the Bride Reboot Trailer starring Andy Garcia…
CelebnMovies247.com reports that the updated version of the film stars Morbius’s Adria Arjona as the bride Sofia, with Andy Garcia and pop icon Gloria Estefan playing her parents Billy and Ingrid.
As the trailer shows, the reboot borrows a lot from the 1991 version, which starred Steve Martin and Diane Keaton, but there’s some added twists.
This time around, the bride is from a traditional Cuban-American family and her father will have to deal with a number of surprises in the lead-up to her big day.
The first one comes when Sofia announces that, not only is she engaged to her boyfriend Adan (Diego Boneta), but she’s the one who popped the question!
Sofia also doesn’t want a traditional Catholic ceremony, preferring to have Adan’s guide from his New York Zen center officiate.
But, much like the 1991 version, Adan is from a rich family and Sofia’s parents will get to experience his life of luxury.
However, there is one major change from the Steve Martin version, namely that Billy and Ingrid do not have the perfect marriage themselves.
The trailer shows the couple in therapy, with Ingrid even admitting that she doesn’t want the marriage to work anymore.
Ingrid and Billy decide to keep their marital problems a secret, so as not to spoil their daughter’s big day, but that means the couple need to set some ground rules for the ceremony.
Dancing together is only allowed if necessary but kissing is completely off the table. Only time will tell if planning their daughter’s wedding will help Ingrid and Billy come back together.
