George Miller Recasting Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road Prequel

George Miller Recasting Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road Prequel!

We have all been patiently awaiting when George Miller would get around to doing a follow up to Mad Max: Fury Road. Read on for more about the Mad Max: Fury Road Prequel…

It appears that George Miller has been kicking around the idea of a prequel to his beloved 2015 sequel Mad Max: Fury Road, CelebNMovies247.com has learned.

Now that the film celebrates it 5th year anniversary, director George Miller confirmed that there will be a cast change in his next project.

The reason for the change up is simple, George Miller has decided on doing a Mad Max: Fury Road prelude which means no Charlize Theron as Furiosa.

Furiosa was one of the best parts of Warner Bros. Mad Max: Fury Road so doing a prelude is a HUGE change and if you ask us a big risk.

So who would replace Charlize Theron and take on the younger Furiosa for the Fury Road prequel?

We suggest Ruby Rose, since she has the same intensity as Theron.

But we are hearing via GameRant who spilled the tea first, that Miller is eyeing Anya Taylor-Joy for the role of young Furiosa. Taylor-Joy is best known for her work in 2015’s The Witch and 2020’s Emma.

However, Miller notes that the option of using de-aging CGI was explored but ultimately dropped. He specifically referenced the “uncanny valley” effect with regards to Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman which famously de-aged its actors.

This film is still a separate project from the planned Mad Max: Fury Road sequel that Miller is working on. This project will focus on a new adventure for the titular character coming in as the fifth entry of the franchise.
