Eddie Murphy is on board to do a remake of the hit comedy Grumpy Old Men!

New Line Cinema is looking to revive the comedy Grumpy Old Men for modern audiences, with Eddie Murphy.

It’s been 25 years since moviegoers experienced the original 1993 comedy about two old men, who were grumpy, feuding over a new woman that moves into their neighborhood.

What we are hearing is that Tim Story, who directed both of Fox’s Fantastic Four movies, as well as the successful Ride Along movies, has been tapped to direct and produce the remake.

Tim’s The Story Company production banner will produce the upcoming comedy which may go under a different name. Just note that it will be inspired by the 1993 comedy that starred the late Jack Lemmon, and Walter Matthau, who fought over Ann-Margret.

Other notable remakes of great hit comedies is the upcoming Dirty Rotten Scoundrels remake.

The movie stars Rebel Wilson and Anne Hathaway in a gender-swapped twist. The movie is titled The Hustle.

As for Grumpy Old Men, there is currently no word on a release date or production timetable for the Grumpy Old Men remake; which was originally reported by Deadline.
