Why didn’t he just shave it off?

Didn’t they paid Henry Cavill enough to be Superman, so what was the big deal?

Well, Henry is now revealing why he couldn’t remove it.

During the filming of MI6 last summer, Cavill posted a photo with the following explanation about the mustache fiasco:

Dear followers,

It is time to finally set the record straight in this moustache fiasco. Pictured above, is not a set on MI6 but is in fact the latest in a series of weapons being designed by Warner Bros and Paramount Studios to combat the entity known as “Henry Cavill’s Moustache”. There has been no discussion over whether to shave or not to shave for the JL reshoots, simply a relentless campaign to put an end to the seemingly inexorable conquest of this despotic ‘stache. It is not a question of IF I should shave – it is a question of how can we possibly be victorious against such a beast without bringing our own doom raining down upon us.

It appears no one can let it go and now Henry is explaining himself again. Speaking with Empire Magazine, Cavill explained:

When we decided to go for the mustache, I certainly wasn’t expecting all the events to unfold as they were going to unfold. I wasn’t expecting ‘Justice League‘ reshoots to be as extensive as they were. When it came to that, it was one of those things where I’m in the middle of another movie, and to change my look for a movie that should have finished already becomes a real problem.

He added:

And as you will see when the movie comes out, to have a fake moustache on would not have been a possibility. You’ll think, ‘Okay, yeah, a fake moustache would perhaps have been blown off in this situation.’ Unfortunately, it led to much dismay when ‘Justice League’ came out, but that’s the nature of these things. You can’t win every time.

The whole situation was blown so out of proportion that the controversy is now one of the first things people think about when they hear the words ‘Justice League’.

The first thing that comes to our mind about Justice League is why isn’t there a Zack Snyder version because the theatrical cut was lacking so much.
