None of us are perfect, and all of us have a past, but its what you do now and in the future that speaks loud.
Director James Gunn has admitted his wrongs about who he was a couple years ago.
Gunn admits that he was an angry person and that he used to post “shocking” Tweet “trying to get a reaction” but he assures everyone that those days “are over.”
Too bad Walt Disney Studios would allow his past to stay in the past. Continue on to read the how James Gunn breaks himself down in 5 statements…
Being a man means a lot of things and if your father does school you, or you don’t have a dad, you have to learn this on your own.
As for, James Gunn, the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director, he is learning social media is NOT your friend.
Especially now, since Walt Disney Studios cut ties with the GOTG 3 director putting the third installment in a flux. Who will Disney hire to take over? Read on and see what’s being said…
James took to Twitter to speak about his wrongs while apologizing for them, but Walt Disney Studios is treating him like Harvey Weinstein a man who actually committed the taboo acts on multiple women.
We understand that Hollywood is hypersensitive these days when it comes to taboo acts, but a lot of Hollywood was built on that.
We understand Disney’s position if he was like Harvey, but he’s NOT and it seems that the studio went way too far with their judgment call.
James Gunn breaks down himself from then until now admitting his wrongs while apologizing for his shock factor jokes:
5. Anyway, that’s the completely honest truth: I used to make a lot of offensive jokes. I don’t anymore. I don’t blame my past self for this, but I like myself more and feel like a more full human being and creator today. Love you too you all.
4. For the record, when I made these shocking jokes, I wasn’t living them out. I know this is a weird statement to make, and seems obvious, but, still, here I am, saying it.
3. In the past, I have apologized for the humor of mine that hurt people. I truly felt sorry and meant every word of my apologies.
2. It’s not to say I’m better, but I am very, very different than I was a few years ago; today I try to root my work in love and connection and less in anger. My days saying something just because it’s shocking and trying to get a reaction is over.
1. Many people who have followed my career know when I started, I viewed myself as a provocateur, making movies and telling jokes that were outrageous and taboo. As I have discussed publicly many times, as I’ve developed as a person, so has my work and my humor.
He weighed in on his FIRING from GOTG3 stating:
My words of nearly a decade ago were, at the time, totally failed and unfortunate efforts to be provocative. I have regretted them for many years since – not just because they were stupid, not at all funny, wildly insensitive, and certainly not provocative like I had hoped, but also because they don’t reflect the person I am today or have been for some time.
James concludes by accepting his mistake and the cause and effect of his actions when it comes to business:
My words of nearly a decade ago were, at the time, totally failed and unfortunate efforts to be provocative. I have regretted them for many years since – not just because they were stupid, not at all funny, wildly insensitive, and certainly not provocative like I had hoped, but also because they don’t reflect the person I am today or have been for some time.
The aforementioned tweets were unearthed by right-wing conservatives who were sick of Gunn attacking the GOP and President Donald Trump.

Should James Gunn have been fired?
