MCU Phase 5 and Phase 6 Release Dates

MCU Phase 5 and Phase 6 Release Dates!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to bring more more great movies and streaming series on Disney +. While the DCEU seems to struggle with its superhero franchise films making it to the big screen, Marvel has a slew of films and TV series on the way…

CelebnMovies247.com reports that at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 Kevin Feige confirmed that Thunderbolts would mark the end of Phase 5 while Fantastic Four would be the beginning of Phase 6.

This new film placement however between the two movies now makes it either the end of Phase 5 or the beginning of Phase 6. With the pedigree of the Fantastic Four, it is likely that will remain the start of Phase 6 and the new film will be the end of Phase 5 and a small palette cleanser similar to Ant-Man concluding Phase 2 or Spider-Man: Far From Home being the true end of Phase 3.

Screen Rant reports that it can be assumed that a sequel to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings but the film’s director, Destin Daniel Cretton has signed on to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty which opens in theaters on May 2, 2025. It seems unlikely unless Marvel Studios chose a different director to take over the Shang-Chi franchise.

Marvel Studios has officially signed Shawn Levy to direct Deadpool 3, while Patton Oswalt has indicated Eternals 2 is in development so the release date could go to either film.

Marvel Studios’ Venom 3 – TBD

After his brief MCU appearance did a huge disservice to his character, Venom fans have been itching to know when Sony can redeem themselves with the sequel to Venom: Let There Be Carnage. No release date for Venom 3 has been announced, but development is confirmed to have started. Tom Hardy will of course be continuing to play Eddie Brock and the titular Symbiote, and there are a number of villains Sony could have the Lethal Protector face in Venom 3. While it looks like there’s little chance for a Tom Hardy vs Tom Holland matchup, there’s also no reason Sony couldn’t make a rumored introduction of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man to their on-screen Venom canon.

Marvel Studios’ DEADPOOL 3 – TBD

It’s been confirmed by his new owners Disney that the next time Deadpool is allowed to star in his own movie, it’ll be as part of the MCU. No news of a Deadpool 3 release date as of yet, but Ryan Reynolds will of course be reprising his role as the Merc With The Mouth. Despite the lack of release date, Deadpool 3 is the first confirmed X-Men movie in development since Disney acquired Fox. Deadpool 3 isn’t slated to hit screens during the Phase 4-6 Multiverse Saga, so it’s more than likely he’ll finally get to join the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of Phase 7.
