Netflix has given a 10-episode order for a live-action series based on Cowboy Bebop, the award-winning, cult classic anime series your cousin’s been trying to get you to watch since the late ’90s. Excitingly, it will be written by Thor: Ragnarok’s Chris Yost, who will also executive produce alongside Sunrise, the studio that created the animated original.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Cowboy Bebop concerns a group of bounty hunters who travel around the solar system getting into various misadventures. In the original, these misadventures covered a wide range of genres – action, comedy, sci-fi, detective capers, you name it – while drawing heavily from western movie imagery. It’s a melting pot of a show, in other words, and often credited as the anime series that got a lot of fans into anime in the first place (interesting bit of trivia: Cowboy Bebop’s the first anime ever aired on Adult Swim).
