New Mutants Confirmed for Disney’s 2019 Release Slate

Ok X Men fans you will get to finally see the horror mutant movie New Mutants.

As of today, Thursday, Disney Studios has confirmed New Mutants to be part of its 2019 release slate. Continue on for more…

CelebNMovies247.com is happy to see that this movie didn’t get shelved since there was so much hype behind it.

New Mutants has been on the radar and gone through reshoot and added some cool additions that we hoped it wasn’t going to get the release it deserved in theaters.

If you recall, New Mutants producer Simon Kinberg provided an update on the planned reshoots in September 2018. Kinberg confirmed the reshoots were to make the movie scarier.

He said:

Audiences really embraced the notion of a superhero movie or a comic-book movie that was, in its core, a horror film.

In February, producer Lauren Shuler Donner said:

I want to see it released. I’m hopeful that it will. I’d hate to see it thrown aside.

Just recently New Mutants star Anya Taylor-Joy recently reassured that they are “making the movie that we set out to make.”

That alone had Marvel fans excited and worried because of the merger between Fox and Disney.

Here is what we know now about New Mutants:

  • Disney Studios has confirmed the X Men movie New Mutants to be part of its 2019 release slate.
  • It appears the movie will keep its August 2nd release date for the time being.
  • Fox ordered the reshoots to make New Mutants scarier. but we are hearing the reshoots have not been done.
  • Both Anya Taylor-Joy and Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams said they didn’t mind the delays to allow the filmmakers “more time” to get it right. In the end, they both want to make a movie that “will make the fans truly happy.”
