Pet Sematary will arrive in theaters April 19, 2019. Starry Eyes filmmakers Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer are directing the project. Jeff Buhler will be penning the new adaptation.

If you got a chance to see the original masterpiece or had a chance to read Stephen King’s scary novel, then you know this movie is horrifying.

The original Pet Sematary was directed by Mary Lambert and King himself, who wrote the screenplay back in 1989. A sequel followed in 1992 but was a critical and commercial dud. You might remember it starred Edward Furlong, who first debuted in Terminator 2 as a young John Connor. He was less than appealing as Jeff Matthews in the sequel, which played a major part in the EPIC FAIL of the sequel.

King stories have been enjoying a resurgence since movie goers are craving for real terrorizing and horrific story telling. Thus far his story adaptations include The Dark Tower, It, Gerald’s Game, 1922, and Mr. Mercedes.
