Pirates of the Caribbean Reboot Replaces Sparrow for Redd

Pirates of the Caribbean Reboot

Pirates are going female! We are NOT sure if this is going to be a win-win with Pirates of the Caribbean fans.

According to hearsay around the studio, Johnny Depp’s character Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean is being replaced by Redd.

Pirates of the Caribbean RebootCelebNMovies247.com has the latest on the Pirates of the Caribbean reboot which revealed back in October that Johnny Depp wasn’t going to be returning to the franchise.

Screenwriter Stuart Beattie was asked about Depp’s current involvement with the franchise and heavily hinted that his job was now finished.

Beattie said:

I think he’s had a great run. Obviously, he’s made that character his own and it’s become the character he’s most famous for now. And kids all over the world love him as that character so I think it’s been great for him, it’s been great for us, so I’m just very, very happy about it.

Pirates of the Caribbean was the last ride that Walt Disney personally oversaw before his death in 1966. Since then, the ride has become a major attraction and movie franchise thanks to Depp’s beloved Jack Sparrow.

Now, like the ride revamps with the addition of Redd, the studio believes making a film about a wench/pirate named Redd is smart.

Look at it this way, Disney fans will either love it and more films will be made, or they will hate it like fans hated Ghostbusters.
