Love & Basketball considered one of the best sports rom-coms ever, but Sana Lathan has just soured us a little bit.

The story felt it was coming from a real place and it was a perfect telling of two people in love, but also being competitive and how life sometimes gets in the way.

Well, actress Sanaa Lathan is now speaking out about her experience about working on Love & Basketball was straight up miserable.

Love & Basketball was directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. The film centers on a young Black couple navigating the challenging worlds of romance and athletics.

But for Sana the whole thing was just “miserable.”:

Lathan had this to say:

I was miserable. I can laugh about it now. I got the job and I think Gina [Prince-Bythewood] finally got to the point where she had to hire somebody. It’s almost like she hired me because she couldn’t find somebody else.
