Scream 6 Confirms Woodsboro Survivors Will Return!
Yes, if you saw Scream 5, then you know that there are four survivors of the latest Woodsboro killings…
CelebnMovies247.com reports after the fifth Scream slashed its way through cinemas earlier this year, introducing a fresh teenage ensemble and earning a four-star review from CelebnMovies247.com in the process.
Via Deadline:
It’s now confirmed that Melissa Barrera‘s Sam Carpenter, Jenna Ortega‘s Tara Carpenter, Mason Gooding‘s Chad Meeks-Martin and Jasmin Savoy Brown‘s Mindy Meeks-Martin are all returning for more ‘What’s your favorite scary movie?’ phone calls.
Cameras are ready to roll in early summer, while this quartet is said to be leaving Woodsboro behind to start anew.
The question still stands if Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott and Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers will return. Neve recently said it all based on the quality of the script.
Meanwhile, Mindy actress Brown previously opened up to DS about becoming the slasher franchise’s first-ever queer character.
It’s very cool, and any time I get to do any gay representation, it’s very exciting. I thought: how lovely that I get to celebrate every piece of my identity, you know, as a woman of color.
She continued:
I have my ‘lesbo haircut’, as I was told, in the film. It’s quite funny, because it is quite a gay haircut, and that’s the most important thing, to show off the different hairstyles that us homosexuals enjoy.
As well as the Scream universe, Brown is slated to revisit the Canadian wilderness as Taissa Turner in season 2 of Yellowjackets, which will officially chronicle the high-schoolers’ winter of discontentment.
Co-showrunner Ashley Lyle revealed:
We will have to get very creative on a production front. But we’re starting those production conversations and we have some really amazing and creative people on our team. So this will be movie magic at play.
Scream 6 comes to cinemas on March 31, 2023.
