John Cho (Star Trek, Columbus) is a father whose teenage daughter goes missing, and as his quest to find her intensifies, he realizes he may not have known her as well as he initially thought.

That’s a parent’s nightmare! Anyways, this movie is surely one for an Oscar buzz, because the story is intense, the acting is great, and you will be on the edge of your seat the whole time.

It asks the question, “what would you do if that was your daughter? Would you search to find her?”

SEARCHING was the winner at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. All we can say is that this trailer is just the tip of the iceberg.

This film is also the directorial debut of a filmmaker named Aneesh Chaganty, who co-wrote this movie with producer Sev Ohanian.

Synopsis:

After David Kim (John Cho)’s 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened, and a detective is assigned to the case. But 37 hours later and without a single lead, David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter’s laptop. In a hyper-modern thriller told via the technology devices we use every day to communicate, David must trace his daughter’s digital footprints before she disappears forever.

SEARCHING is such a perfect film since technology tends to rule tweens, teens and young adults. Plus, it also points out, you don’t have any real friends on social media, just followers who don’t know you at all, or even care.
