CelebNMovies247.com has learned that Sherlock Holmes 3 will be hitting theaters in a 1.5 years. It’s scary to think that 2020 is actually that close but it is.

Sherlock Holmes 3 is finally happening. This is a movie that has had plenty of false starts and a lot of maybe, maybe not sort of stuff over the years, but it looks like we’re finally going to see Robert Downey Jr. back as the legendary detective, with Jude Law at his side as Watson. Warner Bros. has officially locked down a Christmas Day 2020 release date for the movie.

This also means the with that much time, Guy Ritchie has plenty of time to get everything squared away. As for story details, there is nothing floating around or any sort of synopsis available for the new Sherlock Holmes movie.

However, we last heard that Hannibal and Narcos writer Chris Brancato was tapped top pen the upcoming movie.

The last time we saw Robert Downey Jr. as the character was in 2011’s Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. The first Sherlock Holmes was released in 2009. Both movies were very commercially successful, making more than $1 billion combined at the worldwide box office.
