Spielberg appeared at the Empire Awards to officially announced the production start date for Indiana Jones 5. While the script continues to be worked on, Steven had this to say:
It’s always worth the trip when I get to work with this deep bench of talent coming out of the UK. The actors, and the crew, the chippies, the sparks, the drivers, everybody who has helped me make my movies here, and will continue helping me make my movies here when I come back in April 2019 to make the fifth Indiana Jones movie right here.
Indiana Jones 5 has already been given an official July 20, 2020 release date by Disney. Franchise producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshal are back in the fray. David Koepp, the man behind the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull script, is back writing this new tale for the famed college professor and treasure seeker.
The story is being kept under lock and key for the time being, but it’s been strongly rumored that Indy’s wife Marion Ravenwood will be back.
