Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for the 2020 reimagining of the legendary J-horror franchise, which is directed by “The Eyes of My Mother” breakout Nicolas Pesce and produced by “Evil Dead” horror icon Sam Raimi.

“The Grudge” franchise is back, and ready to terrorize John Cho and Andrea Riseborough with a vengeance.

Ghost House Pictures, Good Universe, Vertigo Entertainment, Columbia Pictures has proven that they’ve made the upcoming The Grudge 2020 completely horrifying.

The Grudge is taken from the original Japanese film Ju-On. Now with writer/director Nicolas Pesce driving the scares and horrifying images in the film, it’s a guarantee you will be jumping out of your seat.

Synopsis:

After a young mother murders her family in her own house, a single mother and detective tries to investigate and solve the case. Later, she discovers the house is cursed by a vengeful ghost that dooms those who enter it with a violent death.

The Grudge will open in theaters on January 3, 2020.
