CelebNMovies247.com reports with Thanos killing half of all life in the entire universe directors Joe and Anthony Russo decided they were going to need more time than usual to accomplish what they need to accomplish.
The news of the lengthy runtime surfaced once AMC Theaters took to social media to announce the official runtime for Avengers: Endgame at 3 hours and 2 minutes. Now, these are reputable sites that tend to have correct, up-to-date information for these titles so the news appears to be correct. Though, Marvel Studios and Disney have yet to confirm. We hope that this is right and nothing is cut from the film. There are too much information and too many stories that need telling.
Why Avengers: Endgame 182-Minute Runtime makes Sense:
The Russo brothers previously suggested in two different interviews that their cut of the movie was clocking in at around three hours. They also made it clear that Marvel just wants the best movie possible released in theaters. Most comic book movies would never get away with being this long, but this is not a usual situation. Moviegoers are going to want to see how things wrap up after Infinity War and they probably aren’t going to be scared off by the 182-minute runtime.
MCU movies average runtime of 149-minutes which in most cases is NOT enough time, so an extra 40 minutes is nothing. In looking back at MCU movies, Avengers: Infinity War (149 minutes) and Captain America: Civil War (147 minutes), the two most lengthy Marvel films to date. Avenger runtimes in the past are as follows Avengers was 142 minutes, 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron one minute less at 141 minutes.
