When it came to filming the upcoming Elton John biopic, Rocketman, actor Taron Egerton didn’t want Elton on the set.

CelebNMovies247.com reports Taron Egerton refused to have the legendary Elton John on the set of Rocketman because the thought of having him there on set would have been a little awkward.

See, when it comes to biopics, its common for the actors in big movies to not meet the real-life figure they’re portraying.

Here’s what Taron Egerton said:

Playing him is intimidating enough. I think [if] he sat at the monitors, that would’ve been too much. Particularly given the fact that it’s a fairly warts-and-all story. I shot a scene where I’m him losing his virginity; I don’t really particularly want to do that while the person I’m playing is watching. That would be weird. On many levels.

One thing we can tell you is that the movie isn’t shying away from subjects like John’s time in rehab, and will also include same-sex sex scenes.

 

 

Rocketman is going all in, as star Taron Egerton has revealed that the film includes an apparently quite physical gay sex scene with Richard Madden, and even deals with the singer’s time spent in rehab.

Here is what Taron had to say about the same-sex scenes in the film:

I probably shouldn’t be telling you this but we have a sex scene. We went to some places together and got quite physical. I’ve watched it back and I think it looks great. The grown-up nature of the film, combined with it being a musical, makes it feel quite zeitgeisty. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this but it’s basically about Elton in rehab, so we’re not watering anything down.

We can’t wait to see this movie and we hope it’s TRULY NOT watered down. Fans want to know the good, bad, ugly and grimy. We are sick of the cleaned up version like Notorious, Tupac, and parts of Straight Outta Compton. If you did it own it!
