20th Century Fox is wasting no time developing the X-Men universe focusing on the X-Men character like Kitty Pryde and the Silver Surfer.
If you recall, Ellen Page played Kitty Pryde in both X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Days of Future Past. Comic writer Brian Michael Bendis was hired to script the project with Deadpool director Tim Miller at the helm. Read on for more details on the upcoming Silver Surfer movies as well…
CelebNMovies247.com has the latest developments regarding the X-Men Universe expansion with two solo movies, Kitty Pryde and Silver Surfer.
In addition to Kitty Pryde, Fox is also covertly developing a Silver Surfer movie, based on the Marvel Comics character previously seen on the big screen in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. The best part is that comic creator Brian K. Vaughan is writing the hopeful movie.
The Hollywood Reporter reports:
“There is no word on the Silver Surfer movie that is in early development. Even though this sounds a lot like Fox trying desperately to kick off as many Marvel projects as they can while their possible acquisition by the Walt Disney Company hangs in the balance, there’s a chance this could work. After all, Vaughan is a beloved comic writer (his titles include Runaways, Y: The Last Man, and Saga) who knows how to handle sacred characters, and he’s also received acclaim for his work on ABC’s Lost as well as Stephen King’s Under the Dome.
Details of the movie are not revealed, so we are not sure if this will be a full origin movie taking Marvel fans to the home planet of Zenn-La. For those who don’t know, Silver Surfer is a metallic humanoid astronomer named Norrin Radd from the planet Zenn-La. His planet devourer known as Galactus, he offered his services as his herald in order to save his people. Imbued with a small amount of Galactus’ power, Radd was forced to cruise around the galaxy on a surfboard-like vessel that allowed him to travel faster than light, all in search of planets for Galactus to consume. You might remember his story in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, but there is so much more to the Silver Surfer, so this could be a very interesting movie.
Is Silver Surfer a Movie The Begs for a Origin Movie?
You might say no, but that is what everyone was thinking when Marvel decided to make an Ant Man movie. They casted the right person as Ant Man. Which leads us to the obvious, Silver Surfer will succeed because of two elements; script and casting. If those two come together, we can see the movie working despite the fact Marvel’s first family The Fantastic Four will not be involved.
What Might Happen if the Disney 20th Century Fox merger Happens?
The Silver Surfer could fall into a state of flux and end up liquidated or in a constant state of development like Deadpool once was or like Gambit is now.
We will be crossing our fingers to see the Silver Surfer making the big screen in the next couple years.
