Birds Of Prey Reshoots: John Wick Director Adds Action Scenes

John Wick director Chad Stahelski is coming in to help the Birds of Prey kick @ss!

Birds Of Prey is heading into additional photography as it works its way through post-production ahead of a February 2020 release. Read on to get more details on Birds Of Prey Reshoots…

CelebNMovies247.com reports that Stahelski is taking an uncredited role, and will tackle and design new action scenes for the movie.

Basically, Birds Of Prey will be getting some John Wick type action to beef the film by the time it makes its way to the big screen, thanks to Chad Stahelski’s stunt firm 87 Eleven.

Here is what we’ve learned:

THR reports:

Stuntman and director Chad Stahelski will help add new action scenes during Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) reshoots. The next DC movie to hit theaters will be the Joaquin Phoenix-starring Joker, but that film is set in a different universe to what’s become known as the DC Extended Universe. The DCEU, which includes movies like Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman, will release its next installment in early 2020 in the form of Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). The film features the return of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and will introduce a new team of female DC anti-heroes who fight crime.

Warner Bros. and DC’s Birds of Prey movie is directed by Cathy Yan with a script by Christina Hodson, making it a fully female-fronted affair. But when it comes to action the studio is bringing in an expert at the craft, John Wick director Chad Stahelski.

Birds Of Prey Details:

In addition to Margot Robbie, the film stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya and Ella Jay Basco as young Cassandra Cain – who takes up the Batgirl mantle in the comics.

These female heroes will be facing off against the villainous Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) and Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina). Ahead of the movie’s February 2020 release date, Birds of Prey is preparing for reshoots and will be getting some help from the director of John Wick.

The term “reshoots” may hold some negative connotations for DC movie fans after Suicide Squad and Justice League both had notoriously controversial reshoots and heavily reported clashes between directors and the studio. We believe that having reshoots to beef up the actions sequences in the movie is a good thing. It also hints that the film is already lacking action and fight scenes so Chad gives fans some innovative and stunning scenes, please.
