Ocean’s 8 First Look Trailer Reveals Met Gala Heist

CelebNMovies247.com has your first look at Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett film Ocean’s 8, that also stars Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, and Richard Armitage.

Ocean’s 8, the Comedy, Action, Crime film is written by Olivia Milch, Gary Ross. Filmmaker Ross is also the man behind the lens of this spin-off, with Steven Soderbergh also serving as a producer on this film. Ross, who hatched this idea to do a all female version of Ocean’s 8 was to hopefully jump-start a new franchise with a fresh cast, this time made up of great actresses.

It sounds good and the trailer looks great, but the question that remains is, “will movie goers respond to an All Female cast redo of Ocean’s 8?”

Why not just make the movie and call it Heist or A Night at The Met Gala or 8 Good Reasons? Does Hollywood always NEED to reboot a successful franchise instead of starting new with a fresh yet similar idea?

Gary Ross, a close friend of Steven Soderbergh believes this movie has all the elements to make it a successful franchise.

Plot line:

Gary Ross (“Free State of Jones,” “The Hunger Games”) will direct and produce the film, which will be a continuation of the George Clooney-led films, with Bullock playing Danny Ocean’s ex-con sister. With help from her right-hand woman (Blanchett, playing the equivalent of Brad Pitt’s Rusty), she’ll form a team of thieves to steal a necklace from the Met Ball in order to frame a villainous gallery owner.

The plot line sounds delightful, and the ladies look utterly fabulous as they head to their Met Gala heist in a new charming sibling film to Ocean’s 11. After watching the first look trailer of Ocean’s 8, this film is a front runner as one of my most anticipated in 2018 coming from Warner Bros..

The film also stars Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, and Richard Armitage.

Ocean’s 8 opens in theaters on June 8, 2018.
