Warner Bros. Announces Standalone for Jared Leto’s Joker

It seems Joker fans will be getting a heavy dose of Jared Leto as The infamous Joker was all loved in Suicide Squad.

Today, Warner Bros, announced that Jared Leto’s Joker will be getting yet another standalone movie. Read on to get the details on the Jared Leto Joker Movie…

Warner Bros. Announces Standalone for Jared Leto’s JokerThis is the perfect way for the DCU to redeem itself and tie in The Batman, and the Justice League in the future.

We already know that Warner Bros. has greenlit a Joker and Harley Quinn spinoff movie along with an origin story centering on the Clown Prince of Crime.

What will this standalone Joker movie do for the DCU?

There have been a lot of question marks raised over Warner’s DC Extended Universe and, in particular, Jared Leto’s future in it. Or lack thereof.

Leto voiced his commitment to the role of Gotham’s most notorious villain for both Suicide Squad 2 and Gotham City Sirens earlier in the summer, even if the latter has reportedly lost its place in the DC lineup thanks to Birds of Prey. It appears Warner Bros. has big plans for Leto’s version of Mr. J, as they’ve just announced he’s getting his very own standalone movie.

The actor will star in and executive produces the project, which is set to pave “the way for future films branching from Suicide Squad.” Plot details are obviously non-existent at this very, very early stage, though, that the “idea is to expand on the world created by Suicide Squad and tie into future installments of that property.”

Here is the most recent DCEU schedule…
