Ok, so here is what is going on with the sequel to the EPIC FAILED 1995 theatrical release Waterworld.
You know the movie that was a post-apocalyptic science fiction action film directed by Kevin Reynolds and co-written by Peter Rader and David Twohy. Well, we have some news about Waterwold 2…
CelebNMovies247.com has learned that a sequel is going to be made to let you know what happened after the first film.
Most of us don’t care about Waterworld 2, but Universal believe fans what another film. The first one ran 2 hours and 15 minutes but it felt like 4 hours in the quest for dry land in a world of water. The casting was lackluster then, so they really need to beef it up with Hollywood’s sexiest stars who can act.
Yeah, like most of us here know, the movie was an EPIC SNORE fest in theaters. However, if you have been to Universal Studios, the people who released the original film, did something smart and it only took them 24 years to make it happen.
Studio heads at Universal have greenlit a sequel to Waterworld titled Waterworld 2: Enola Rising all thanks to their Waterworld live action show that plays in the park.
Now, do we think there will be a huge box office draw to see this film, Nah, not unless they cast Chris Hemsworth as the lead? Let’s be real for a second he is box office eye candy, so keep his shirt off. Also, the movie will need some more Hollywood hunks so they should enlist Jason Momoa, Michael B. Jordan, Trevante Rhodes, Idris Elba, Karl Urban, and Chris Pine. As for the ladies, we’re thinking Charlize Theron, Zoe Kravitz, Zendaya and Olivia Munn. They can keep Kevin Costner, but kill the character quickly.
Oh yeah, did we mention that James Cameron is directing the film with a budget set at a measly $350 million?
Here is what Universal announced [via Exhibitor Relations Co.] this past weekend at CinemaCon in Las Vegas:
Buoyed by nearly 25 years of live-action shows, 7 days a week, 5 per day, Universal’s Waterworld: A Live Sea War Spectacular has finally pushed WATERWORLD into the black and the studio has now greenlighted Waterworld 2: Enola Rising. Budget is set at $350M, James Cameron directs.
Now, we have seen the Waterworld live-action show at Universal Studios Hollywood and it is awesome because it’s LIVE! Waterworld does NOT translate on film the same way, but hey what’s $350M anyway.
Thoughts?
