By now everyone knows that Sam Richardson “Detroiters,” which co-starred “SNL” alum Tim Robinson has officially been canceled.
In December Comedy Central’s Richardson wrote Tuesday on Twitter:
Sadly, “Detroiters” won’t be picked up for a season 3 at Comedy Central. I want to thank everyone who watched and supported the show. It was a dream to make and I’m proud that those who did see it enjoyed it. Maybe it will find a home elsewhere, who knows? But truly, thank you.”
“Detroiters,” is a single-camera buddy comedy that centers on two local ad men (Richardson and Robinson) who make low-budget commercials in Detroit, Michigan. The two aspired for much more.
The breakout “Veep” star Sam Richardson, one of the masterminds behind the series that only lasted 2 seasons is speaking out.
The “naturally gifted,” “a great actor,” and “funnier-than-anything-I’ve-ever-seen funny” is sounding off.
Fast forward to now, Richardson said in an interview with IndieWire:
I should be more careful how I speak, I guess, because we’re still trying to sell the show to whoever we can, and I guess I don’t want Comedy Central to nix the deal because of my loose lips. But at the same time, I’m also very frustrated
