Jamie Lee Curtis goes on to reveal why she regrets making the film and her return to the franchise after Laurie Strode was last seen in Halloween II. Read on…
CelebNMovies247.com reports that Jamie Lee Curtis regrets that she didn’t use her influence to make certain original franchise masterminds John Carpenter and Debra Hill part of the first reboot.
Jamie Lee Curtis goes on to reveal that she may have been blinded by dollar signs, stating that money was her primary motivation for continuing without the duo.
Jamie’s revelation came during a recent sit-down the iconic actress had with Entertainment Weekly.
She said:
Now, to this day, I regret that I didn’t say to everyone, If Debra Hill’s not the one producing this movie, I’m not doing it. But what ended up happening was, she wasn’t part of it, John wasn’t part of it, and I was still part of it, and it was a machine going down the road. I was excited about it, and, honestly, I was going to be paid well. I hadn’t made any money on the Halloween franchise at all. I mean, really, in all of those years I hadn’t really made any money. It just gave me a lot of fame. And now I was going to get a paycheck.
Hill passed away in 2005, but luckily Carpenter has returned as a producer and composer for the most recent Halloween movie, which opened this weekend in theaters nationwide.
The film has slashed its way into second place in the box office, but the film has scored the biggest opening for any of the Halloween films. The horror film has also done well with fans and critics alike.
We’ve already heard rumors that a second film is already in the works.
We saw Halloween 2018, to us the film was ok. Our favorite characters in the film was Curtis (Laurie Strode). There are two standouts in the reboot/sequel-ish film. Virginia Gardner (Vicky) was a breath of fresh air, she added that dynamic reminiscent of PJ Soles in the original Halloween. The other is Jibrail Nantambu (Julian) who kept it real representing the black community with perfection. When Micheal is in his home, he bails saying “call my mom, I’m out.” It was the smartest thing in the film. Everything that delt with Vicky and Julian was the standout scenes of Halloween 2018.
